We finished discussing Leo the Late Bloomer and wrote our own stories about a way we have bloomed in first grade! We read the book "A Bad Case of the Stripes". We reviewed plural verbs and where to put commas in our writing. Every morning we write in our journals for 25 minutes. When writing we learned how to CHECK 5: punctuation, spacing, capitals, spelling, and neatness. Ask your child how they use their "hand" to help them remember! Read every night with your child for at least 20 minutes. Reading builds confidence and fluency! When you have finished a story, discuss what happened and sequence the events of the story together |
